Autoglass® partners with The Green Insurer as industry demand for sustainability grows

Autoglass® is now the partner of choice for The Green Insurer and will offer vehicle glass repair, replacement and recalibration services to all of the insurer’s customers nationwide. The partnership is representative of a growing demand from automotive insurance companies to work with companies with strong sustainability credentials.

Autoglass® is committed to becoming a more sustainable business and has initiated several policies recently to reduce its environmental footprint. This includes opening three solar panelled modulars in Reading, Doncaster, and Worcester which operate entirely off-grid. Autoglass® also operates a repair-first strategy which extends the life of windscreens and reduces the amount of wasted glass, as well as recycling 100% of the glass waste it does create.

Ian Rowlands, Commercial Director, Autoglass® says:

“Consumers want to know that any work being done on their car is being done in an environmentally responsible way, and as such ESG is an increasingly prominent factor in decision making within the automotive insurance industry. Initiating green policies and making a considerable effort to be more sustainable not only helps the planet, but also makes business sense for us as we look to become an even more attractive partner for insurers. This new collaboration with The Green Insurer is a sign of the progress we have made in becoming more sustainable, but we are very aware that we cannot rest on our laurels and are constantly looking for new ways to further reduce our impact on the planet.”

The Green Insurer is a new insurance company that offers eco-friendly, carbon offset car insurance to drivers who want to help the environment. The Green Insurer allows customers to track their journeys and rewards customers for sustainable driving habits.

On top of their ESG credentials, The Green Insurer chose Autoglass® due to its excellent customer service levels, national coverage for windscreen work, and its digital offering.

Paul Baxter, CEO, The Green Insurer, said:

“We are a purpose-driven company and as such are very particular about the companies we partner with, only working with business who are committed to sustainability and whose ESG values align with our own. As well as their skilled technicians and national coverage, we were impressed by the repair first strategy at Autoglass® and the businesses’ efforts to reduce carbon emissions. We are looking forward to a long and collaborative partnership together.”
